Status

Prices are coming, and they are not going up unreviewed

We have price lists collected and assembled for a first group of funeral homes. None of them are on this page yet, because a licensed funeral professional reads every assembled figure against the home's own document before it goes live. That review is the whole product. A number we have not checked is worth less than no number at all.

Here is what each one will look like when it clears review. Per home, per service, a single rounded ballpark, so nobody mistakes it for a quote. One sentence saying what is inside that figure and what is not. Sales tax always described as approximate, with a plain instruction to ask the funeral home for the exact amount. The date the list was posted and the date we checked it, both said out loud. And one link to the price list itself, so you can read the same page we read.

Where a home's list does not price something, the page will say so in plain words instead of filling the gap with a guess. Where cemetery charges are separate, it will say that too.

One thing worth saying before the numbers arrive. Price is not quality. A higher figure does not buy a better funeral, and a lower one does not mean you are being cared for less. What the price tells you is what a home charges, which is only useful next to what it includes.

How to read these

Every figure here is assembled, not copied off a headline. A posted package price is only the start of what a family pays, so we add the transport, the county permit fee, and the container or casket where the list requires one, and we say what we added. Death certificates are priced one at a time, and every family needs a different number of them, so they stay outside the total.

Prices are rounded on purpose. These are ballparks for comparing homes, not quotes. Only the funeral home can give you a quote.
